Takashi Murakami x G-Shock Frogman

Since 2002, Takashi Murakami has hosted a weekly “Art Dojo FM” radio show on Japanese radio station Tokyo FM. 2010 marks, the radio station’s 40th year on the air, so to celebrate, they enlisted Casio to produce a translucent red G-Shock Frogman, complete with Takashi Murakami “flower” artwork on the caseback and packaging (there’s a mini pillow in the box!), as well as the artist’s signature across the strap. The watch will be released on September 11, 2010 and is limited to 300 pieces.

As part of their Fall/Winter 2010 Collection, uniform experiment presents a collaboration with Benrus on a military watch. The watch is 35.5mm large, has a black case and matching black canvas nato strap. Both the Benrus and the uniform experiment logos are featured on the dial. The watch will be released on July 31st.

As a nod to ultimate Panerai resource website href="http://paneristi.com/">Paneristi.com, the Italian watchmakers have developed this special timepiece celebrating the 10th anniversary of the site. Limited to only 300 units, the limited edition watch is surely a must have for Panerai enthusiasts. Aside from all of the bells and whistles one would expect from such a great timepiece, these special editions were stamped with a special message on the back, honoring the site in its entirety.

Sometime back href="http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2010/7/21/the-urwerk-cc-1-cobra-explained-video.html">Hodinkee had the chance to sit down with Martin Frei, chief designer for modern haute horology brand Urwerk. He walked them through his entire design philosophy and explained each of Urwerk’s timepieces. Just a few weeks back, Urwerk released their Black Cobra CC-1 that got the whole world buzzing. The Cobra looks good, there is no doubt about that, but after reading some other blogs posts on this watch, it was clear that readers can’t really grasp this watch until they see it in action. Luckily, they have this video of Martin explaining the original Cobra. Watch below and you’ll see why!

High end watchmakers Richard Mille recently paired up with superstar tennis player Rafael Nadal to produce a limited edition watch. Classy while still retaining a sporty element, the black-on-black timepiece was made to take abuse, being worn on the court during matches by Nadal and coming out, for the most part, unscathed. For those interested, the watch is now available for purchase through Cellini stores in New York City, retailing for a cool $525,000 USD.

Described as “A conceptual spinning sculpture on the wrist”, the face features a rotational theme which creates a “big bang” design twice a day. The watch is based on the BR01-92 Radar model and will be available next month.
